If you’ve been looking to dress your walls to impress, take a trip to Brussels Accessible Art Fair this weekend.
The BAAF Art Boutique showcases over 50 young artists from across the globe each with a range of their very distinct styles tion of their work – photography, paintings, and sculpture. The event which aims to make art accessible (prices start below 100 euro but you can easily part with a several thousands if you want to) ironically is held in the most exclusive hotel in the city, the Conrad.
Friday night was the preview of the eighth edition of the show but doors are open the whole weekend. Artists are on hand to explain their art and hopefully create a good client base form the international crowd that float through the room.
Styles are as varied as you can imagine. From the more traditional flower prints by welsh artist Rachel Stewart (amazing texture to them), to the elegant abstract works by French artist Laetitia Schlesser-Gamelin, to the fantastic mix of photography and art by Ivory Coast artist Ben Heine.
Latvian photographer Vi Proskurovska uses digital photography to make semi abstract images from the most everyday things – staircases, drains, window frames.
Entrance is free..
